Ahh, what a lovely night. It’s finally getting cold round these parts. But it’s still warm-ish during the day. Thus, fog. To make the deer more cloak and dagger. I spotted five cuz they were right up on the roadway; one was big buck laying down/sleeping by the road and another a doe jogging on the shoulder. There was some fluffy unknown thing too.
Thanks Jeff and Clay for listening online (and anyone else!), got another nice phone call, and then just exactly what I like to do: listen to music.

This is a fantastic show tonight, and it’s still early on into it! Every song is fantastic. I drove 500 miles today, and am in VA, half way to my destination of Atlanta, GA, so it’s great to be able to listen with the help of WiFi along the way. You must be on a high-energy music-inspired roll tonight, because it sure sounds like it from what I’m hearing through the magic of these here interwebs. If I weren’t so given to wordiness, I’d be speechless. Thanks again for anothetold you I saw her open for Laura Veirs at Mercury Lounge on East Houston St. in Neuva York four years ago, shortly after she put out her first CD. I love her song “Hills” from that first album, before she had her band the Get Down Stay Down (and what a great name for a band, isn’t it?) My daughter Zoe heard Thao live at her college (Bennington) in VT last year and didn’t know I knew her music.
I really wish I could get your shows as podcasts so i could forward them to people. Zoe would really like to hear them, but can’t do the 1 to 3 a.m. streaming live listening that I do. Sl would her b.f, a very talented singer/songwriter himself, who she met there at school. Like most very talented 19 yr.old boy musicians, he’s a little full of himself and not taking the academic side of Bennington life seriously enough.
How can you make your shows available as podcasts? Or is it too expensive or complicated?
Check out this new singer/songwriter. He has the disturbingly bizarro name of “Lee Harvey Osmond” As in a cross between the accused assassin of JFK and Donny Osmond. But not sounding like either. Hehas a myspace page, and his band includes members of Canada’s Cowboy Junkies, and he;’s from somehwere in the province of Ontario, Canada , and his real name is Tom Wilson, and his namesake has been dead for 46 years. And it’s just a name from late-20th century history that only gets an emotional reaction from people who were alive and old enough to remember watching him get shot to death live on TV in living black-and-white. But that;s a claim-to-fame few if any, can match, getting shot to death on live TV, in what could be considered the first really real Reality Show.
That’s a beautiful cover of “Losing My Religion” you just played!
Aww, thanks Clay! Glad you enjoyed the show and hope your travels are safe. I’m working on getting answers on the podcast front; I’ll let everyone know when I know. And thanks for the music recommendation I’ll definitely check it out
wah! too many Mirah albums, where to start?
The album I played tonight it great and a favorite; she does a couple of songs in Spanish too, which I like. Lotsa accordion and fun instruments too. I also really like “You Think It’s Like This But It’s Really Like This” and “Share This Place”.
Thanks! maybe i can sneak them onto my christmas shopping list. u know what will happen, tho – if there’s one in the used section when i’m at the shop, that will be the one.
